The perfect program to deliver basic training in cabinet construction, kitchen planning, cabinetry grades, and job estimating
Having a kitchen or bathroom designed to be as personal as your client’s signature is a daunting assignment. There are so many preferences and needs to consider within the confines of space and budget. This course delivers basic training in what’s needed to be successful from the green light.
Cabinetry is an intangible product dependent upon measurement-taking, space-planning, and proper ordering before it ever gets manufactured and becomes tangible. Those activities are covered in depth as well as the nature of cabinet construction and configurations. Most importantly, attendees will learn how to identify differences in the half dozen quality grades of cabinetry.
Particular emphasis is placed on how to properly lay out a kitchen, using NKBA design standards and The Subtractive Method. Different layout types are examined with a focus on the various options available in turning corners in a kitchen space. Veteran Design Assistants will find this information to be a good refresher. Rounding out this segment are design tips on work triangles and traffic patterns.
Attendees will learn how to artfully condition prospects for what to expect when working with your company. Attention will also be given to cabinet estimating methods, the primary and secondary duties of the Design Assistant’s position, the viable career paths ahead, and next steps following the completion of this course.
